Grow a Garden Mutation Chart: List & Multipliers
This Grow a Garden mutation chart lists mutation multipliers, stacking math, and how to get each one, including mega mutation notes. Price the stack in the mutation calculator after you read the chart.

Mutations are the single biggest value multiplier in Grow a Garden. A crop worth a few hundred Sheckles can be worth millions with the right mutation stack. This guide lists the key mutations with their multipliers, explains how stacking math works, and shows how to get the most valuable ones. To see exactly what your mutated crop is worth, use our Grow a Garden calculator.

New: Moonbeam (Harvest Moon)
Moonbeam is the Harvest Moon event mutation. Primary value right now is Moon Coins at the Moon Sell Stand, not a catalogued Sheckle chip. We will add it to the home / mutation calculators once the wiki-confirmed Sheckle multiplier is stable. Related: current events, weather events, mutation calculator. Updated August 10, 2026.
How Mutation Stacking Works
Growth mutations (Silver, Gold, Rainbow) act as a separate variant multiplier. Environmental and weather mutations stack additively using this formula:
Stack multiplier = 1 + (sum of all mutation multipliers) − (number of mutations)
Example: a crop with Shocked (100x), Celestial (120x), and Frozen (20x) has a stack of 1 + 240 − 3 = 238x. Multiply that by a Rainbow variant (50x) and the same crop is worth 11,900 times its base value.

Mutation Combos (Fused Mutations)
Some of the strongest mutations cannot drop directly. They form when two specific mutations are active on the same crop at once.
| Combo | Result |
|---|---|
| Wet + Chilled | Frozen (20x) |
| Flaming + Molten | Blazing (52x) |
| Celestial + Aurora | Cosmic (240x) |
| Cosmic + Galactic | Astral (365x) |
| Voidtouched + Eclipsed | Abyssal (240x) |
| Riptide + Stormcharged | Stormbound (270x) |
| Sundried + Verdant | Paradisal (100x) |
| Biohazard + Corrosive | Contagion (205x) |
How to Farm Mutations Efficiently
- Leave crops unharvested during weather events so they collect multiple mutations before you pick them.
- Thunderstorms apply Shocked (100x) – the most reliable big multiplier for regular players.
- Mutation pets automate the grind: Disco Bee applies Disco, Dragonfly applies Gold, Butterfly converts heavily-mutated fruit to Rainbow.
- Combine a mutation stack with a Gold or Rainbow variant, since variants multiply the whole stack.
How to Get Grow a Garden Mutations: Every Source
| Source | How It Works | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Weather events | Crops left planted during an event roll for its mutation | Rain gives Wet, Thunderstorm gives Shocked, Meteor Shower gives Celestial |
| Pets | Certain pets apply mutations passively while equipped | Disco Bee (Disco), Dragonfly (Gold), Butterfly (Rainbow), Space Squirrel (Voidtouched) |
| Gear | Tools that force or attract mutations | Lightning Rod attracts strikes for Shocked, mutation sprays apply a mutation directly |
| Admin and holiday events | Developer-triggered weather with exclusive mutations | Sun God (Dawnbound), Black Hole (Voidtouched) |
| Fused combos | Two active mutations merge into a stronger one | Wet + Chilled becomes Frozen, Celestial + Aurora becomes Cosmic |
The Lightning Rod deserves a special mention: place it near your best crops before a Thunderstorm and it attracts up to three lightning strikes into its radius before breaking, turning the 100x Shocked mutation from a lottery into a plan. Pair it with the timing advice in our weather events guide.
Mutation Categories Explained
- Growth variants (Silver, Gold, Rainbow) – roll when the crop grows and act as a separate multiplier on top of everything else. A crop can hold only one variant at a time.
- Temperature mutations (Wet, Chilled, Frozen, Drenched) – from rain and frost weather. Wet and Chilled fuse into Frozen (10x).
- Environmental mutations (Windstruck, Sandy, Pollinated, Sundried and more) – from standard weather and pets, these stack freely with each other.
- Cosmic and event mutations (Celestial, Aurora, Voidtouched, Dawnbound) – the biggest multipliers, tied to rare weather and admin events.
- Fused mutations (Frozen, Cosmic, Astral, Stormbound) – cannot drop directly; they form when their two components are active on the same crop.
Can All Mutations Stack Together?
Almost. A crop holds one growth variant (Silver, Gold, or Rainbow) plus any number of compatible weather and environmental mutations. The main exclusions are components of a fusion: once Wet and Chilled merge into Frozen, you carry Frozen instead of both parts. In practice, endgame crops carry five or more mutations at once, and the additive stack multiplied by a Rainbow variant is how single harvests reach the billions.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best mutation in Grow a Garden?
Goldsparkle (500x) has the highest single multiplier, but for most players Shocked (100x) from Thunderstorms is the most farmable high-value mutation.
Do mutations stack?
Yes. Weather and environmental mutations stack additively, and growth variants like Gold or Rainbow multiply the whole stack on top.
How do I calculate my crop’s value with mutations?
Enter the crop, weight, and mutation stack into our crop value calculator and it applies the exact formula automatically.
What is the highest mutation multiplier in Grow a Garden?
Goldsparkle at 500x is the highest single multiplier, followed by Astral (365x) and Stormbound (270x). All three are difficult to obtain – for everyday farming, Shocked (100x) from Thunderstorms remains the workhorse.
What does the Shocked mutation do?
Shocked multiplies a crop’s value by 100x. It is applied when lightning strikes a crop during a Thunderstorm, and a Lightning Rod placed near your plot attracts strikes to guarantee it lands on crops you care about.
What is the Rainbow mutation multiplier?
Rainbow is a growth variant worth 50x, and because variants multiply the entire mutation stack rather than adding to it, Rainbow on a heavily mutated crop is transformative. The Butterfly pet converts fruit carrying five or more mutations into Rainbow.
What is the Celestial mutation and how do you get it?
Celestial is a 120x mutation applied by Meteor Shower weather, which only occurs during Night cycles. Keep valuable crops planted overnight and unharvested to catch it.
What is Voidtouched in Grow a Garden?
A 135x mutation from the Black Hole admin event, also applied by the Space Squirrel pet. Because the event is developer-triggered, the pet route is the only way to farm it on your own schedule.
How do Blood Moon events affect mutations?
Blood Moon replaces roughly one in three Night cycles and applies the Bloodlit mutation (4x). The multiplier is modest, but Bloodlit stacks with everything else and Blood Moons are frequent, making them reliable filler on a big stack.
What mutations work best with pets?
Pair mutation-applying pets with a spreader: Disco Bee or Kitsune generates the big mutation, T-Rex copies existing mutations onto three or four more crops, and Butterfly converts finished stacks to Rainbow. That trio automates most of the grind.
How are mutation multipliers calculated?
Weather and environmental mutations combine additively: 1 plus the sum of multipliers minus the number of mutations. The growth variant then multiplies that whole stack. Our crop value calculator runs the exact formula for any combination.
Multipliers get rebalanced in patches, so verify big numbers on the Grow a Garden Wiki and test them live on the official Grow a Garden page on Roblox. Stack Grow a Garden mutations with a Gold or Rainbow variant and one crop can fund your whole week.
